I don't like dogs much, actually I get scared when they bark. So i stopped walking and her dog started walking towards me barking at me. I asked her to call it back as I am scared. She did not call. She just stood there and let the dog bark. It started running towards me barking and this woman did NOTHING....i had to start walking back to my car as it looked aggressive and I was scared of being beaten. in the process I sprained my ankle and could not walk properly for a month. I still went in to eat after another lady interfered and called the dog towards her. The host did not even come to apologize. So rude of her!!!! The food is great, but if you don't like dogs like me,do not bother
Stopped off here to wait out the rain with my boyfriend. Although I would not normally pay the prices for a pancake, it was a special occasion. It took a while to decide on what to eat, and we opted to share the marshmallow caramel and flake pancake. I would recommend visiting if you driving through Kaapschehoop, very quint and well worth a cheat day.
Kaapschehoop is a small town, it takes only a few minutes to walk from one end of the town to the other. The scenery is absolutely beautiful! Kaapschehoop is the last place in South Africa with wild horses. While walking into Koek n Pan we saw these beautiful animals. The restuarant itself is very querky. It is situated in a house and there are tables outside as well as tables in the various rooms. It is definitely very unusual. I ordered the mince pancakes and they were very tasty. My family ordered the sweet pancakes. I tasted them and I particularly liked the barone suprise pancakes. The restuarant has a very homey feel and the staff were excellent. Overall a wonderful small town lunch.
Up the steps to the quaint deck is where I had some of the best pancake ever. In the mood for something different my wife and I ordered a peri-peri chicken liver pancake and a sugar-free waffle with cream and honey to share. For close to R100 it was a full meal and delicious, even for someone like me who doesn't normally like liver. We would not recommend the cappuccinos. Don't come expecting great service. Just sit yourself down at a table and you'll eventually get pancake!
