Southern Grinds - KAHUKU

Wow. I can't believe I'm the first one to review this place. Southern grinds is owned and operated by a couple who are in love with each other as much as they're in love with cooking for the community. I would go with the fried chicken (so freaking delicious), along with their rice with special seasoning (can't remember the formal name), as well as the cornbread. OK, and can I just say a word about the chicken? OMG. The chicken. Fried perfectly so the skin is just right and the chicken is so dang juicy. They set up I think on Tuesdays but if you ever see their tent out, you have to go more than once because the food is crazy good and I kind of want them to open their own restaurant here in Kahuku . lol.

I absolutely love their food! They are the best, and we enjoy supporting local businesses too. The chef is always experimenting with new dishes, and we take great pleasure in tasting all of his creations!

The fried chicken is made fresh, and you can actually see him frying it up while you wait. The seasoning is perfectly balanced; the outside is crisp while the inside is juicy—it's seriously fantastic! And let's talk about the Mac n Cheese—it's exactly what I crave! With cheese, bacon, and breadcrumbs, it's loaded with cheese throughout, not just a sprinkle on top. The noodles are soft and not rubbery at all. Trust me, you HAVE to try it! It’s DELICIOUS! The pricing is a la carte, with $3 for each piece of chicken and $3 for a scoop of Mac n Cheese. Was it worth it? Absolutely! I’m definitely a new fan!

Wow! This place is incredible! It's an absolute MUST-TRY!!! Everything is so delicious; I can't stop craving it right now!
