Royal Thai Cafe - Kailua Kona

I ordered curry here twice, and both times it was mostly vegetables with very little broth. My green curry had some kind of food coloring that turned the chicken blue, and it also had a strange chemical taste. However, the other dishes I tried were fantastic. I'll be steering clear of the curry from now on, as there are plenty of other excellent Thai restaurants in the city with delicious curry offerings!

This is a wonderfully authentic Thai restaurant with delicious food. The service is both prompt and friendly. The Eggplant Basil and Garlic Stir-Fry dishes are absolutely fantastic!

Very authentic Thai food. Pineapple fried rice was amazing. Two Star Spice Level (of 5) was a big lip tingling running nose level for this white guy! Higher spice levels are not for the weak heart palette.

King Thai offered a delightful dining experience with excellent service and a lovely atmosphere! The garlic shrimp was flavorful, the soup was generous, and the crispy spring rolls were all freshly made, providing more than enough food for two. The fried ice cream dessert was a perfect ending to the evening. We will definitely come back during our vacation!

Unfortunately a tad disappointing. The Pad Thai was very dry and did not have a lot of flavor. It was sad because it smelled so good in the car. The curry was very coconut-ey and did not have a traditional Thai currty flavor. The veggies didn't seem very fresh and the spring rolls were very greasy. Overall, it was edible and the staff was nice, but I wouldn't recommend (at least takeout). Maybe eating in is much better than take out.
