Frida Mexican Cuisine – Westwood

The restaurant is not recommended. Fajita de Polo is too dry you only get 3 fajitas. You also have to order a fajita and there are 5 of them for $4.95

First off, the Cadillac Margaritas are EXCELLENT... Side of guacamole to start with the complimentary chips and salsas(2). Service was very friendly and professional... Grilled Fish taco plate was tasty Chili Relleno plate was delicious as well. Presentation was neat clean and deceptive...the scoops of rice and beans seemed small but actually regular portion size. Both types of rice were moist and flavorful. Beans were traditional and good. Service dog friendly, as required, but otherwise not dog friendly. Although, for us, the service staff went out of their way to provide water and attention to my dog. While I found the menu to be a bit pricey for Mexican food, I didn 't regret visiting and enjoying this establishment. Note; four Cadillac Margaritas were half the total of the bill and as mentioned were well worth it. Parking: If there 's other parking available, I didn 't see it... Street parking with parking meters.

GREAT food! The Molcajete Frida was fabulous. Traditional molcajete is hard to find and theirs is excellent. The poor server was absolutely slammed towards the end of the meal. It seems that they could use more help, but all in all, it was a nice experience.

Definitely low key, the steak nachos were amazing, and the drinks were lit!

Not knowing Westwood and needing dinner before a long drive home on a weeknight, we found Frida's on Open Table. It was a lucky choice. My husband's chile relleno and my vegetarian tacos plus fried plantains were delicious, way above your standard SoCal Mexican. Good tortillas; chips could use an upgrade, and rice was salty and uninteresting otherwise an excellent meal. Presentation was good, service friendly and responsive. Menu is extensive with many non typical choices. Ambience is attractive, though hard materials and central bar would make it very noisy on a busy night. Would definitely return here.
