We were able to make reservations two hours before so they weren't too crowded at all. The interior is incredibly cozy and inviting. Loved how intimate the setting was, but the tables not overly close together. It was my birthday and the chef left a signed happy birthday card which was the first time I've ever had a chef care so much about people who dine in their restaurants. It was the sweetest gesture. For the food itself we got: -akami tuna $18 : fish was incredibly fresh, burrata made it extra creamy -heirloom tomato salad $15 this was probably our least favorite as the flavors got lost in each other but was still ok -funghi pizza $24 amazing, from taste to dough to crust.....amazing -yuzu tagliatelle $32 favorite. Yuzu was perfectly there, not too muted and the crab was so sweet -Japanese cheesecake $12 loved it! Food was amazing, service was even better. Can't wait to try the rest of their menu.
Japanese x Italian. Italian dishes with some Japanese ingredients. Pricey but really good. Great atmosphere and ambience. Great for a special occasion or a special date ; Recommended: Heirloom tomato salad was unbelievably good, prawns, orata fish, squid ink pasta
I've been to so many restaurants in LA so many. This is one of my favorites for several reasons. For starters, our server Ashley was 10/10. Definitely the best service I've received at a top restaurant in the last year or so. Additionally, this meal was really dynamic, and it had some unexpected favorites. I trusted Ashley with her recommendations, and they were spectacular. The prawns were maybe my favorite, but we loved the pizza and tomato salad we ordered. I'll definitely be going back when I get a chance! Thanks so much, Ashley, for making our anniversary spectacular!
This is an absolute gem! We went there with friends to celebrate a special occasion (my husband and I just got married) and wow what an amazing place!!! As soon as we walked into the restaurant, I was in awe of how beautiful this place is. It's perfect for date night or just to have a great meal on a Saturday night. I loved the ambiance and the bar. The pizza oven is spectacular too. We got greeted by a friendly host and got seated right away. We started off with dry aged yellow tail and it was just amazing. I really just wished there was more for us to eat because it was just tasty! Next was the arancini and it was the best arancini I've ever had we had to order another plate. The prawns were perfect especially when you squeeze the lemon and spices. I loved how they had authentic vegetables to accompany this dish. The mushroom dish was one of my favorites because I'm a huge mushroom fan and it was absolutely delicious!!! The yuzu tagliatelle was so refreshing and light. We did add the uni on top but to be honest, next time I would order it without the uni unless you are craving. My husband and our friend ordered the diavola pizza and loved it. I was surprised to see that the pizza is bigger than I expected. I shared the vegana with our friend and we just loved the egg plants and the olives. This meal was filling and to top it off we ended sharing the olive oil cake and they couldn't have baked a more perfect cake. This was so fun and delicious. Our waitress and all the staff we we encountered were so nice and professional! I was surprised how Italian this place is my Italian friend was shocked and amazed by how Italian it is also and the fusion made it just that more interesting. I can't wait to go back to try more dishes!
They say their pizza is a must try here. The pizza is large enough for two people to share as an appetizer! Got the funghi pizza. The puffy disk was not too chewy, more pillowy than crispy. Mushroom-y flavor came through well. It did not overly rely on cheese--just enough here without being greasy. Was disappointed by their pasta. Tried the squid ink pasta but found it very heavy and lacking a distinct identity. The lamb ribs were awesome in contrast. Tender and flavorful. Beautiful outdoor patio. There's a little traffic noise from the ever busy Sunset Boulevard, but the patio is set far enough back and there's music to mitigate it.
