The wingettes were decent; they were cooked well, tender, and juicy, but they lacked flavor. The voodoo sauce didn’t have the spice I was expecting. On the other hand, the Taste of New Orleans was fantastic (except for the catfish or whatever it was). The flavors were rich and savory, and I enjoyed every bite. It's a charming little place with a nice outdoor seating area, perfect for those of us who can't go inside. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The prices are reasonable, and they also serve coffee. It's located on busy Ventura Boulevard, which is great for strolling around.
We had our first visit and were extremely pleased with the overall experience. The staff is friendly, and it's a family-owned and operated establishment. The decor exudes a New Orleans vibe, complete with an outdoor patio available for events. The food was fantastic! We ordered oysters, a shrimp po' boy, gumbo, and hush puppies, and everything was delicious! They also have live music on Fridays and even host comedy nights. What a fantastic place! We will definitely be returning!
I had an excellent experience at this restaurant, starting with the outstanding service and hospitality. The food was absolutely delicious. We tried the dirty fries, which had a nice spice to them—perfect if you enjoy a bit of heat. The On the Bayou dish was packed with flavor. We ordered the blackened catfish, which was a fantastic choice. We also got the fried catfish and shrimp plate, but I preferred the catfish; it was cooked to perfection and incredibly juicy. The atmosphere was great as well, with music that wasn’t too loud, allowing for easy conversation. I’ll definitely be going back!
