The first time I tried out Salaya was during Covid 2021 and they were offering take out only. I remember my experience of the food being Just OK.Well.. couple of years later, I’ve re discovered Salaya and couldn’t be happier! Their dishes really shine and are one of the better Vegan Thai fusion restaurants in town.Veggie Spring Rolls Love that they add baked tofu inside. Really gives it more oomph than all veggies or even standard uncooked tofu. The sauce is heavier on the coconut side rather than peanut but still delicious either way.Orange Chicken Soy chicken tossed in the perfect amount of sauce. Sometimes at other restaurants its too much and takes away from the crispness of the soy chicken. Salaya does it well.Pad See Ew or Spicy Garlic Noodles (i forgot which one) Really great portion, greta variety of veggies and soy protein. Filling and tasty. Great standard noodle dish. Can’t go wrong.
Another vegetarian gem located in one of those oh so many strip malls in the Hollywood area. The take out business was booming but we ate in. So many menu options to choose from which for a vegetarian is wonderful. Decor is clean but certainly not elegant or luxurious. We were going to the Greek theater that evening and this is very convenient. But really, go for the food I don't think you will be disappointed.Vegetarian options: The whole menu is wide open for vegetarians. A very, very large number of menu options.Parking: It's Hollywood. The lot is hit or miss but there is street parking. You can find parking if you try.Dietary restrictions: They will make your order vegan if you want and there are gluten free items too.
Fresh, authentic, legit flavors. My fave is the Kao Mung Gai (Hainanese Chicken with rice). The boat noodles are a pretty good plant-based version too. Loving the Duck noodle soup the Larb with crispy chicken!!! YummmWhat a treat to have found this place!Highly recommended! They also do fusion Japanese too with crispy rice spicy tuna or salmon.
Absolutely excellent plant-based menu. So many things and you make no mistake by ordering any of it. So delicious and big portions. The shrimp almost made us think if we are really at vegan restaurant! Can't wait to try other things.
