We were travelling and were craving Chinese Food. Saw this place not too far into town and decided to try it. We were greeted by our waitress (her tag said "Asst Manager") and I must say, that's the first time I've been served in a restaurant ANYWHERE by someone in Yoga shorts! The egg rolls were great, but the chow mein was almost not warm at all, and s&s pork was pretty mediocre, and the chop suey was ok but had a weird sauce. Just not quality food by any means. After we served up, we decided to put our chow mein back on the plate and send it back for something fresh. She came back in a few minutes with the same chow mein, which had been microwaved. Not a classy joint. She told me it wasn't hot because it was put onto cold plates. So then don't put it on cold plates! But really, it wasn't fresh at all. There was only one other table of 4 there but our waitress, although sweet, never came back to check on our meal. I'd definitely find somewhere else to eat. This place was very disappointing!
First up, Melanie the manger did a great job of serving 3 large tables for a friends BD party. On the food front, we came from Vancouver. BC which has an incredible variance of amazing Chinese cuisine, which my wife and I grew to love many of the spices. Heat for us is fine, but we find most the Asian food locations in Kamloops seem to be "gun shy" about adding so many of those awesome flavours. I didn't notice an option on the menus, but I might recommend using the pepper graphic beside all the items as well as offering different levels of it. My wife ordered a noodle dish with spice and it was mundane. I had a tippin * ginger beef on a hot skillet that was quite flavourful. The portions are really good so bring an empty stomach. If I was organizing and event, I'd personally keep it down to about 14 people so they could sit at one of the very large circular tables with the lazy Susan in the middle. I would give this place a second visit to get more of a feel for it. Recommended. :)
A group of 10 of us, out mid week for a farewell party for a young man..... each of us ordered a different dish. Place was quiet, service was average, food mediocre at best...expected so much more flavor from the dishes. Just about froze near the window location in the side room....made it very uncomfortable to enjoy the meal. Portions are decent sized. This place has potential with the location but needs a little more attention to detail.... bathrooms are not clean either!
Their lunch time buffet is hard to beat. They do refill the platters often, keep the buffet area clean, the food is tasty and hot. Good choices and always consistent. Staff is always friendly. We will be back many times.
