The restaurant was charming, with friendly staff, but the prices were too high for the quality of the food. The potato salad lacked flavor, the buns were not top quality, and the sandwich was lacking in taste. It was a disappointing first experience with Kansas BBQ. Looking forward to trying a different place next time.
I was in town for a dear friend's funeral and needed to find a quiet place to eat. It was already 7:00 in the evening and this restaurant was one of the only options available. The host was unfriendly when I asked for a booth, and the service was slow. The server, a pleasant young lady whose name I didn't catch, eventually took my order for a salad with dressing on the side and brisket without BBQ sauce. When the meal arrived, the brisket was extremely fatty and the salad seemed to be made with expired produce. The bill for this disappointing meal, along with a glass of water, came to over $17. I recommend grabbing a bite to eat before arriving in Junction City, as the dining options are limited and not very good.
While our waitress Veronica was great, i hope she finds another job soon. We went out for a bite to eat for our annual shareholders meeting and witnessed a young woman up front go running to the bathroom crying do to a much larger male coworker cornering and yelling at her. This restaurant not only has undercooked and poor food, they also clearly have a tolerance for this white male intimidating the rest of the staff. I know a toxic environment when I see one, and if I would've witnessed this event before being seated our entire party would have left.
Fun environment. Great service, wonderful BBQ. Party of six all different orders everything very tasty! Near interstate 70 so convenient for locals and travelers.
