The cilantro and onions are always fresh, and the salsa verde is fantastic. You have a wide selection of meat options to choose from. The staff is friendly, and the restaurant is always spotless. Without a doubt, this is the only place in Missouri where I will go for street tacos.
I really appreciate having a reliable and cozy Mexican restaurant just around the corner from me. That's my main reason for dining here. They've been serving amazing burritos since their food truck days outside World Liquors, and now they've moved into a nearby strip mall where they continue to satisfy my late-night cravings for carnitas burritos while I enjoy some unusual Mexican wrestling on their TVs. They also offer Taco Tuesday specials and various discounts earlier in the week. Be sure to grab the green and red sauces and other condiments from the salsa bar before you leave!
First off, the portion sizes are impressive. Today, the refried beans were a bit on the salty side, but the traditional Mexican rice was excellent. I ordered three tacos with different meats to try: 1. **Steak Taco**: The meat was fantastic! I rate this taco a perfect 10/10. 2. **Pastor Taco**: It’s quite challenging to find a good pastor taco in the USA, and considering that, I’ll give this one a 7/10. It doesn’t taste like authentic pastor at all. While the meat is good, it was EXTREMELY GREASY. (I’m attaching pictures.) My Mexican stomach can handle a lot, but I really wouldn’t recommend tackling such an oily taco, especially if you’re getting them to-go. The cold grease can really make you feel unwell, so please take my advice. 3. **Carnitas Taco (fried pork)**: I enjoyed this one a lot; the meat was really good. It was greasy, but that’s expected with carnitas, so I give this taco a 9/10. **Tortillas**: They were the perfect size with just the right amount of oil, reminiscent of what you’d find from a good taquero back in Mexico. **Salsas**: Both the red and green (which I assume is guacamole-style) were excellent. I loved them! **Horchata**: It was authentic and tasty, although a bit pricey in my opinion. $5 for a liter might be out of range for some families, so I wish they offered smaller cup sizes. Overall, I highly recommend this place! Just be cautious about the grease—I even used a paper towel to soak some up from my taco. I plan to come back at least once a week, but I will definitely skip the pastor tacos next time!
The tacos were absolutely delicious! The salsa was flavorful and served in generous portions. I will definitely be back in the future! Food: 5/5
I'm a big fan of large burritos, and I can't help but rave about them! Make sure you come hungry, as these burritos are huge and delicious. I ordered the pork belly burrito, while my friend opted for tacos and a tamale. Everything was fantastic. I will definitely return for more. Food: 5/5
