My 375th barbecue stop on a 35-state BBQ journey (the 19th in Kansas) was quite disappointing. I spent $15 on a two-meat plate featuring ribs and burnt ends, with a side of French fries and a Diet Coke. First off, the wait was excessive. I was sixth in line at 11:13, but my food didn’t arrive until 11:51. Three customers behind me gave up and left for other options. Now, about the food: the burnt ends were dry, tough, and lacked flavor. After just three bites, I tossed the rest in the trash. The ribs were heavily sauced and had a decent rub, but they were far from easy to bite into—so much so that I needed my steak knife to cut them. Even the fries were disappointingly chewy. Overall, this turned into a one hour and forty minute lunch stop. If you decide to dine here, be sure to plan your time accordingly.

I visited on April 1, 2023, having heard excellent reviews about this being one of the top BBQ places in the Kansas City metro area. However, I think those making such lists need to broaden their taste. I waited 30 minutes in line, even though there were only a few people ahead of me, and then waited another 30 minutes after ordering to receive my food. In my opinion, it certainly doesn’t deserve a spot among the top BBQ joints in KC.

I was craving Kansas City BBQ but didn't want to dine indoors during the lockdown. I recalled this place from an episode of Queer Eye and arrived right when they opened. There was no line and no wait at all. I finished buckling up in my car, looked up, and suddenly noticed that a queue was forming. Talk about perfect timing! I ended up enjoying the best turkey sandwich I've ever had in my life.

Stop by and enjoy great food coupled with outstanding service! They have a good variety of menu items.

Finally did it. Definitely see why they sell out most days. Very small BBQ business. Went with a buddy and between us we tried the burnt ends, turkey, pork, ribs and homemade sausage. All were good. Sauce was very flavorful, sweet kind. The BBQ Beans stole the show. Very, Very good. A must try. They had bread n butter pickles in them. If I am in the area for lunch I most definitely will go back. 9-1-2022
