The ribs and chicken fell off the bone, both sausages were snappy and flavorful. I love the spicy sauce that comes with. I was surprised the mac cheese had bacon in it, amazing. Right down to the hush puppies everything was perfect. Can’t wait to come back.
Mediocre bbq at best. Char bar is far and above better. Had the same at both places and char bar blows slaps out of the park.
I found this place by accident and we absolutely loved it!!! Better than Joe's.
True KC BBQ. Nice to go somewhere that isn't pretentious, doesn't apologize for what they do, and has great BBQ. The seating is outside at picnic tables, the way it should be. (Although shaded, if the weather is hot, the seating is hot)
Well, that was a huge disappointment. After all the glowing reviews I thought hey, I 'll get myself some of those famous KC ribs, so I ordered the half slab plate with baked beans and baked potato casserole. Even got a side of burnt ends. The ribs were overcooked and didn 't have much flavor, kind of mushy. Not terribly objectionable but certainly nothing to write home about. The burnt ends were just chunks of pot roast, with no flavor unless you drowned them and sauce. I seriously doubt there was any brisket involved, Just pieces of stewed Chuck. The baked beans were just pork and beans swimming in a ton of barbecue sauce, and the baked potato casserole was drowned in some kind of oil (maybe margarine? and was just too gross to eat. From the reviews that I read, this is apparently what people in Kansas City call good barbecue. I got news for you: you can go to any backyard from Texas to Georgia and get better ribs, and better pot roast.
