The Standard Pour - Kansas City

We had a great experience at this restaurant! The service was excellent, and the food was absolutely delicious. It's a fantastic choice for a meal. Don’t forget to check out the unique ceiling fan system! I’m definitely interested in coming back to try it at night, as it was really quiet during our visit.

The much-acclaimed Thai pig wings are a must-try! Even better is their unique take on the soft-boiled egg. It's perfectly cooked and encased in a light, crispy crust, accompanied by well-balanced spices, sauce, and sausage, creating a dish that wobbles with delightful texture—absolutely heavenly! The garnel and geese were also delightful, with amazing aromas that enhanced the creamy flavors of the dish. The special of the day was a lamb frame, which was another culinary pleasure. You won't find any disappointments on this small menu; everything is simply wonderful. That's what makes this restaurant stand out. While the service could use a little polish, it’s not enough to deter a visit. We were a party of six, and the average bill came to about $50 per person, including cocktails. This was our third time dining here, and we wish it were closer to our home because it could easily become a weekly favorite!

This restaurant exceeded our expectations! The wine pairings were excellent, and the menu presentation was quite creative. We were very impressed with our waiter, and we would definitely return for a dinner that isn't on a holiday. I really hope this place thrives!

This was my second time to have dinner at the Standard Pour, first experience was excellent; food, service and drinks. Second time at Standard Pour, I invited some friends to join, after enjoying my visit the first time. This experience was by-far one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. We waited nearly an hour, for two, really small appetizer plates and probably another hour before our dinner had showed up. The restaurant was not very crowded for a Friday night, so the slow delivery time for our food didn't seem justified. It also seemed like the food quality was not up to par for a Friday evening meal; the appetizers or entrees. We mentioned to our waiter about our experience and he said he would have the manager come see us. The manager did stop by our table, and he didn't seem to care about our frustrations. Finally, at the end of the night, after initially receiving a bill for our complete meal, the waiter did return with a new ticket, that had the food comped completely. This was just a really disappointing experience, for a patron that lives in the neighborhood, and normally enjoys trying new, locally owned restaurants in Westport. We normally try a local establishment before a chain. The chances are very slim that we will ever return to Standard Pour, let alone recommend it to any of our friends or family.
