Whataburger - Kansas City

I don?t typically run out and try the new restaurants during opening week, but gave it a shot. We arrived around 8:45 pm and there was a long line at the drive-thru, so we went in. It only took about 15 minutes from when we ordered to getting our food. One of the coolest features of the inside is the Patrick Mahomes autographed jersey handing up in the glass display case. The kids loved it, as you can see it was game worn. The had all registers open plus people usingiPads. They give you a plastic table number and when your food is ready, they bring it out to you. Reminded me of a place I visited as a kid. Of course it?s new, but staff was friendly. Food was great. We paid $9.99 for the baconcheeseburger meal and it was worth it. The food is definitely different from other fast food establishments and everything was fresh. The cheeseburger had good flavor and the bacon was a great touch. Bulky onions on the sandwich, which Ican do without. The strawberry shakes are better than the golden arch place. Our order was missing an apple juice from a kids meal and they ran out to us in the parking lot, definitely going the extra mile. Worth the wait and worth theprice!

I love Patrick Mahomes and he loves and owns this Whataburger. I love my wife and she loves all Whataburgers. So I went with high hopes. We dined in, which is far quicker than the drive-thru. Our server at the counter was super friendly and got our order right with no problem. It was a bit down hill from there. I got my food and the onion rings were wet and falling apart. I took a bite of my jalapeño cheeseburger and found one maybe two jalapeños on a dry overcooked patty.The bun was dry and tough and overall it was inedible. In a move I rarely make, I found the manager and had everything replaced with fresh. The onion rings were hot and crispy on the outside but inside they?re very wet and taste more ofgrease than onion. The burger was a bit better with more jalapeños, but overall over cooked and the bun was still stale, the kind of bun that breaks down into pieces when you hold it. I guess ultimately, for me, Whataburger is a lesserversion of Sonic. Similar offerings and flavors, just not executed very well. I think a lot of the hype with Whataburger is mostly nostalgia or being a Texas transplant. Based on the quality of the food and nothing else, it?s not verygood.

Shondra did an amazing job. It was packed and very popular. She was so kind and apologized for the wait but everyone was excited to get the food so we didn't mind the wait. She helped us with other questions too. We really appreciated her. Food was great and had a great time.

???????? BEST THING MAHOMIE HAS DONE FOR KC!!! You have to try a #4 w/ bacon... Its busy but the food was AWESOME! SERVICE in the drive through was AWESOME! Order was correct the first time... What else can I say... I 'd definitely recommend you try this place!

This are one of the best burgers I've had!!! This was my first time eating here since in Indiana we don't have whataburger. And it was an amazing experience enjoying a burger like that. I recommend this place for sure.
