Dickey's Barbecue Pit - Kapolei

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. I ordered chicken, ribs, and brisket, but none of it had any smoke or BBQ flavor. The portions were small, and the beans tasted canned. The mac and cheese was bland, and the string beans were awful—there were no onions in them. I know BBQ, and this was not it! This was a takeout order from the Kapolei location on June 27, 2023. Overall, I would rate the food a 1 out of 5.

The food arrived 15 minutes late and was way overpriced! My fries cost $4.99, and I actually counted only 11 pieces. The sandwich I ordered was supposed to come with pickles and onions, but all I got was meat and bread. I'm extremely disappointed!

I've been a regular at Dickies for nearly 9 years, and I've been visiting this location for the past year. Unfortunately, I've noticed a decline in quality here. The meat is often cold and frequently dried out, the dinner rolls are as hard as a rock, and drinks aren't available from the fountain. Additionally, the service has been slow. I hope you can work on improving your quality, as you used to be much better. Just to clarify, I visited on Sunday, July 9th, and it seems this issue tends to happen on Sundays.

I was eager to try this BBQ place for some authentic flavors, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The baked potato with brisket was tasty, as was the mac and cheese, but the ribs were overly salty and dried out — it seemed like there was more bone than meat. The customer service was unfortunately lacking, especially for first-time visitors like myself. I noticed another patron also had questions but received unhelpful answers and ultimately left without ordering. When I returned home, I realized I hadn't received my drink with the combo plate, and when I went to call and inquire, I found I had no receipt to reference! Overall, I don’t think I’ll be returning. Plus, I couldn’t help but notice in other pictures that I might have missed my bread, pickles, and onions too?!

I was in the mood for some BBQ and noticed this place with signs promoting their offerings and beer selection. I decided to check it out and placed my order, but when I asked for a beer, I found out they couldn't sell it because the staff weren't of legal age. If they can’t serve beer, I’m definitely not interested in trying their BBQ. Food: 1/5.
