We came in November/December to Crete and a lot of taverns were closed. Not this one! We were here in March too. The owner went in to the kitchen himself and made us a superb lunch! He was proud to tell about his son being a pilot and showed us his granddaughter on several school pictures. A place to go back to! Vegetarian options: We both eat vegetarian and there were many options. Not all on the menu. Just ask and the owner will make you a lovely meal! The best for food in Kasteli Heraklion! Always delicious dishes with a wide variety of menus, from traditional dishes to pizzas. Excellent service. The owners, Mr. Nikos and Mrs. Maria, always smiling. Great people who make you feel like you are eating at home. They always treat us to their excellent tsikoudia, which is their own distillery, plus many other delicacies. Restaurant to avoid! Un serveur aujourd’hui 7 septembre 2023 incompetent à un imaginable point! Seul au service. Six personnes avant nous. Lent to serve. Ne respecte pas ce qu’on demande. Nous avons quitté l'établissement après avoir bu l'apéro! Disgusted by the behavior of the employee! Two French couples came to dine at your house last week. She was a friendly brunette lady who served us. Everything went well. Today was not great! You can't have a small bottle of ouzo! 3 ouzos served in a glass! Ordering small plates of appetizers turned out to be practically impossible! For the rest, it was not certain that it would be understood. Two tables serving other customers painfully slow.
