Rabsel Garden Cafe is located in a serene courtyard within one of Kathmandu's most significant Tibetan Buddhist monasteries. It offers a peaceful atmosphere where visitors can enjoy a cozy meal, snack, or drink while checking their email. The menu features a variety of options such as pizza, pasta, salads (mostly organic and hygienic), and freshly prepared juices. Not everything on the menu may always be available, but the fresh juices are particularly enjoyable. The cafe welcomes everyone and provides seating both indoors and outdoors in the garden. Proceeds from the cafe support the monastery's efforts to preserve Buddhist tradition. To find Rabsel Garden Cafe, follow the road north from Boudhanath Stupa towards Shechen Monastery, located on the right side near an ecological-themed mural. Once inside the monastery, follow the row of stupas until you reach the entrance to the garden on the left.
The café is situated in a beautifully serene setting at Kloster Shechen. The menu is vast and caters to both meat-eaters and vegetarians. I enjoyed the Thukpa - it was simple yet nourishing and comforting.
I don't think that eating is very special, as the usual travel stack mentions, nothing that I would go out of mine. but the hire! this is what I occasionally come here: the beautiful, peaceful, green garden, no traffic noises, just birds. I'm waiting for my order.
Rabsel garden cafe must be one of the most peaceful places in kathmandu. located in a quiet courtyard in one of the most important Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, it is a nice place to have a cozy meal, snack or drink while they feel (or, know, check their email.) the menu includes all the usual bases for a travel restaurant in nepal: pizza, pasta, salads (searched, mostly organic and hygienic) as well as being prepared to be prepared. as usual in this part of the world, not everything is always available on the menu. I particularly appreciate the fresh juices. everyone is welcome (they do not have to stay in the jail, although they have a nice guest house), and there are many seating places both in the indoor and in the garden. proceeds support the important work of the monastery to preserve Buddhist tradition. finding it: from the Boudhanath guest-Stupa they take the road that goes north (against the small tempel at the main entrance of the inner courtyard of the stupa) and follow the signs to the Shechen Monastery (they will leave left, and then after a minute or two the monastery entrance on the right side, near an ecological-themed mural signages they will go up once in the closter. go along a row of stupas and then the entrance to the garden on the left.
