Gasiinsamut Thai Fusion Restaurant

On a Monday night in Katoomba there wasn't a lot of options! This little family owned Thai restaurant was open and busy! We took a chance and weren't disappointed! BYO, great food and cute little service. Note: bring your own ice cubes ????

We ordered through Menulog and after 2.5 hours of waiting and 5 phone calls they hung up on us. Told us food was coming and it had never left the restaurant. Appalling and rude service. Could only imagine how bad the food would be. Stay away would be our recommendation

This was our first day/night in Katoomba and just wanted something quick, easy and cheerful.Fate would have it that we chanced upon The Gasiisamut Thai Fusion Restaurant so we chanced our luck.Having sat down we took in what was a place in need of some love.The Menus were in an old plastic sleeves which were dog eared over time and the printed menus inside no better off.We found the Menu a bit confusing but could understand what the dishes were.The walls were adorned with pictures of, what we presume to be, the Thai Royal Family.A high point was that my wife and I wanted a drink, but they served no alcohol.However the waitress told me where the nearest Bottlo was so I went there at some speed and came back armed with a lovely bottle of CabSav.On getting back we ordered two dishes.Whilst waiting in an atmosphere more suited to a wake we were jolted to life by what must have been the owners cell phone music on high volume taking orders or liaising with Taxi companies for home delivery.This ran in parallel to some random music which they kept changing mid song.My order duly arrived, but I'm not sure the trade descriptions act would have identified what I had as Wagyu Beef!It was palatable as Stir Fries go but without rice or noodles which I was expecting.Meanwhile my wife waited for her dish and to keep her hunger at bay helped me out with my dish!Still she waited and we were joined by one of the few others there last night asking where his rice was for his Curry!It then seemed that we had hit a work change shift as other random "staff" materialised from nowhere.Somehow we managed to get and pay for our meal.Tasty enough but enjoy the show!

I think the food was great, especially the stir fry seafood and vegetables. delicious. The crispy pork belly is also really nice. I saw that there was also an entree which gave the menu a really nice touch. Overall, great restaurant.

I took my grandchildren there and the restaurant was very child friendly, they loved the entree. I think they have gone through a change of management. I would recommend this place to anyone in Katoomba
