We sat down and ordered reasonably quickly, had our entree and then the long wait for our mains which never came. At least four other couples at tables who sat down well after us received their meals. We asked a few times and were told a couple of mins. 1.5 hours later we gave up and walked out. The advice we were told was 'it's one of those nights, kitchen was slammed' - well you didn't appear that busy and there's no excuse. Never again. We won't be recommending it to friends or family who come for visits.
First pre-dinner drinks listening to the pianist in the lounge, then window table with views of the sunset, then four of us enjoyed everything we ordered. Some dishes needed to be adjusted to be dairy-free or pregnancy-friendly. Each couple shared an entrée, all ordered different mains (beef, chicken, lamb, salmon) & sides, and shared desserts plus coffee. We tried wine from Orange district. All very pleasant. Our young waiter was very friendly and helpful. He was also on the next morning & made us some decent coffees (additional).Breakfast had the usual range on offer, and for us Continental was ample - another pleasant meal.
The food in this restaurant is over priced and of poor quality. I had the scallops which were watery and overcooked, my wife had the ravioli starter which at best could be described as rubber. The lamb was over cooked and the service was poor. I would not advise anyone to eat in this establishment
Had dinner while staying at the Mountain Heritage. The nicest part of dinner was not having to go out and worry about getting to and fro, the convenience of a quality restaurant under our nose was great. I had beef and my partner chicken and I had chicken and corn soup and bread entree. A bottle of wine with dinner and we ended up paying $165 which was reasonable value for money. Alan the live pianist provided nice background music and all in all it was a pleasant evening, but nothing for me to"rave" about.
You can't beat the amazing view from this restaurant but the staff were the unfriendliest I've ever met. We were a private group of 18 who had reservations for lunch. From the moment we arrived until we left we all felt very unwelcome and unwanted. The food was good but because of the attitude of the staff we couldn't get out of there fast enough.
