My family and I visited Austin and chose breakfast in Astor because the menu looked so different than a tipical breakfast restaurant and it was not disappointed. It was not only the variety and delicious taste of all the delicious dishes, but how nice and humble was to get the owner/cook to stop at our table to check on us. We loved everything about it; Food, beautiful place and great service. We're definitely coming back. Thank you.

Wow! We visited this restaurant when it was a small spot in a different location, and we wanted to see how it has evolved. Chef Casey continues to prepare incredible dishes, and his staff is excellent as well. The flavors, from the appetizers to the main courses, are simply outstanding. The drinks are enjoyable too. You can’t beat the combination of friendly service, fantastic food, delicious drinks, and a passionate owner who truly cares! I highly recommend this place.

I typically snap a picture of my meal, but the aroma and presentation of the food were so enticing that all I have to show is an empty plate! The food was absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly and well-informed about the menu. I ordered both the beef and chicken empanadas; the beef was my favorite, but the chicken was also delightful. For my main dish, I had Belgian waffles topped with peri-peri chicken breast, a sunny-side-up egg, potatoes, and bacon. The chicken was seasoned to perfection. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and look forward to returning to try the oxen and explore your drink options. Keep up the fantastic work in the kitchen!

Great fresh food, friendly atmosphere very good service. Had the mango salad, very nice and tasty, my daughter had the steak and egg breakfast plenty left to take home to the guys. Will definitely be back with Dad and brother.

My first impression of Astor was definitely positive. When we walked in, a friendly host welcomed us to sit amidst a lively Sunday brunch crowd. The dining room was stylish, and the staff exuded professionalism. The other patrons were enjoying themselves and savoring their meals. Astor offers a fantastic mimosa special and an impressive tea menu. The diverse menu features options ranging from continental to South American and South African cuisine. Our server was exceptional, answering all of our questions and helping us choose the best dishes for our tastes. Our appetizers arrived promptly and were delightful. Just glancing at the empanadas assured me we were in for a treat. The chicken and beef empanadas were absolutely perfect—warm, flaky, and crunchy, enhanced by a wonderful chimichurri that was both herbaceous and full of flavor. We also ordered a savory cheese-stuffed croissant, though I regret I can’t recall the exact name of the dish. This tasty snack was complemented by a creamy dip made with cilantro, herbs, and South American spices, which paired perfectly with the warm, gooey pastry. For my main course, I chose the South African lamb curry. It was everything you’d want in a curry—warm, tender, and as inviting as a big hug from your best friend. The seasoned rice was flawlessly cooked and the perfect accompaniment for savoring all that delicious curry. The plantains added a lovely, subtle earthiness that complemented the lamb beautifully. It was seasoned perfectly and had a wonderful texture. From what I sampled of my partner’s dish, the South American breakfast was fantastic. The beans, eggs, and shredded beef were bursting with flavor, offering the warmth and comfort you crave for a patio brunch on a cool morning. I couldn't get enough of the herbed roasted potatoes and the French toast, which was light and fluffy—just as French toast should be. Astor even went the extra mile by serving warm syrup with the toast. Honestly, what’s not to love? Overall, the service and atmosphere created an excellent brunch experience. They even had a DJ on the patio, providing music that was just the right volume—not too loud, yet lively enough to enjoy on a laid-back Sunday.
