The Union Kitchen (katy)

The service was spot on and brunch was tasty. The brunch is amazing and probably the best in Katy.

Wait staff were attentive and friendly. Food was better than expected, well above average. Will definitely be back.

The Sysco food truck is a classic example of its type. I can't recommend it for high-quality food, but if you're hungry and enjoy meals that come straight from a bag, go ahead and indulge.

I made reservations for 5 and the Open Table app asked if I wanted a high table or standard. I chose standard. Upon arrival, it was evident the AC was not able to keep up with the heat. The hostess took my name asked if a high table was okay. I told her no that I had specified that in my reservation. She seemed perplexed and proceeded to put a table together for us 2 tables from the door. We asked if we could move away from the door (there were only a few tables occupied but were told all other tables were reserved (perhaps but the high table she wanted to seat us at was now open, why not switch some around? . Our waitress was friendly efficient. The Albariño wine is remarkably good! When the entrees were delivered one entree slid off the plate onto the floor. The server was very apologetic a new dish was quickly brought out. I ordered the scallops and was a little disappointed. They truly could’ve benefitted from a sear on them for a richer flavor better texture. We ordered bread pudding that was over baked (top was hard , but not warm enough to melt the ice cream on it. Overall just a less than good experience. There are too many really good restaurants UK is competing with. I wouldn’t choose to go back, but would go if invited.

The food was excellent, and the service was exceptionally attentive. The staff was very friendly. We will definitely return!
