In addition, even some of the most popular sushi restaurants in the city are still quite moderate in my admittedly not too humble opinion. But Tobiuo delivered, even excelled... in all categories. We ordered the Omakase (show menu, cooking choice... tad expensive but absolutely worth). Chef Lim was present and either prepared or inspected almost any dish that came from the sushi bar and kitchen. The quality of the food was stellar... especially the Pea Shoot Scallops, Sashimi Nigiri, as well as the Lamb Chops. I'm a bit of Bourbon Purist, but her old-fashioned whisky is made with Japanese whiskey and it was actually one of the better cocktails I had recently. I would have ordered a second if I didn't drive. You've done a solid job that rebuilds the interior... it's elevated without exaggerating it... and I also really appreciate that available space does not overwhelm with tables to reach maximum capacity. There is still plenty of space for the moors and servers easily maneuver even if the dining room is full. And finally, what really sealed the deal was the service. I mentioned that Chef Lim personally supervised the kitchen, but his staff was equally impressive. We were immediately greeted and sitting, our server was fast and polite, and we did not have one, but two managers ask us about the quality of our experience while we were there... once during the meal, and again after. Top-notch experience... better than Aka, better than Azuma, and much better than Uchi. I really hope they keep it... when I'm in trouble.
Chef Lim and his staff are amazing. Food and service are always impeccable. Every record they bring you is an artwork. I tried their regular tasting menu, a Happy Hour menu and the Sushi Omakase experience with Chef Lim himself, and everything was delicious and artistically prepared. I have been enjoying the food scene in Houston (and environments) for 10 years and this is my favorite place by far. Lucky for me, it's super close to my house!
This place is amazing!!! The sushi is fresh and melts in the mouth. We really love the homemade soy sauce and wasabi. Absolutely favorite sushi spot in Houston.
The foie gras is a must try and everything else is top notch. I wish there was one in the spring, but it doesn't bother the drive
My wife and I celebrated our three year anniversary here. I recommend the Toro Tartare, Shaved Cucumber Salad, Bluefin Tuna Flight, and the Strawberry Cheesecake. Everything was fresh, the service was awesome, the staff was very friendly. My new favorite restaurant in Katy. I'll definitely be coming back!
