We booked ahead, essential if you would like to try this dining extravaganza. Be prepared to spend you’re entire evening here. We felt embraced by the service which was so welcoming and attentive. Our hostess, Catherine could not have been any more charming. The restaurant itself is cosy and intimate and include details like personal little side tables and mannequins to hold bags and coats. Tastefully put together. The dinner was a 5 course set menu and on enquiry I was offered an alternative to foie gras of the gyozas. Main cours was a choice of beef or lamb. We had one of each, both of which were cooked and presented to perfection. Every dish, every little treat that came along was a delightful symphony of flavours so expertly presented. From the aperitif appetisers to the final petit fours with our infusions, everything left us amazed at what chef had produced. He is an artist in the kitchen and clearly passionate in his work. You can’t rush this arrive by 8 but don’t expect to be out before 11. A true dining experience and we loved every minute of it. We chose also the wine menu 4 different regional wines all chosen to compliment the meal and expertly explained by Catherine.
We had a fabulous 5 course meal last night. Host was very friendly and gave great service. Be prepared for this to take up your whole night you will not regret it!
We've been coming to this part of the Alsace for several years and have tried almost all of the restaurants in Kaysersberg at one time or another, but this is the one place we always make a point of coming back to at least once on every visit. One of the main reasons is because the quality of the meal is consistently excellent. I've never had a dish I was disappointed in. Usually, an Amuse bouche doesn't rate a mention but on this visit, it was based on a beetroot puree, and was absolutely delicious. It's not a large place and with Covid 19 distancing requirements there are even fewer tables than usual. The choice on the menu's is limited but everything is freshly prepared and it simply would not be practical to offer a larger choice. There's always a selection of fish and meat on the menu's, all perfectly cooked and presented. The decoration is very nice and service by Catherine is both professional and jolly. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Kaysersberg ! PS because of the size, this is one place where you really do need to make a reservation.
We chose this place for our first dinner in the Alsace region. To say it was just good would be an understatement... We regularly have the opportunity to dine at many Michelin Star restaurants (at least a dozen this year) but this place has jumped to the top of our 2019 list and maybe in the top 3 for the decade. If you like to dine at an establishment where the chef is passionate about his dishes and execution of French Cuisine is important than this is your place. Thank you for an awesome evening!
