Leopold's Tavern - Kelowna

The food was delicious! Im pretty picky about my beef dips because, honestly theyre pretty simple sandwiches. The Short Rib Beef Dip takes my favorite sandwich to a new level! The bun was perfectly toasted, the ratio of other toppings to beef is perfect. The beef its self is perfectly cooked, tender, juicy and packed with flavor without being too salty! If the au jus is made with bullion, I couldnt tell. Normally the au jus is where places mess up. They make it super salty and it ruins the experience. Leopolds au jus is just perfect in every way, including the portion to sandwich ratio. My only wish is that the sandwich were a little bigger. Now for the Poutine. This is where the one star loss comes from. Having eaten my first poutine in Montreal, my standards are pretty high. This poutine was pretty unremarkable in my opinion. Perhaps eating it along side that phenominal sandwich is where I went wrong. There wasnt enough gravy or curds for my taste. The gravy was too thick for poutine, it should be half way between a roux and a gravy for poutine. The house made fries were great! They were the perfect size, cooked well. I couldnt taste any seasoning beyond the gravy. The Churro Bites were ok. I dont really understand why people are so crazy about them. Im sure theyre good if youre one of those ppl who are crazy about them. My experience is that they are essentially hush puppy batter, piped out of a star tipped pastry bag, slightly over cooked to give them a lovely crunch and dusted with cinnamon sugar. Not my cup of tea, but that doesnt mean theres anything wrong with them. All the food was packed with care and arrived safely and intact. They supplied an ample amount of thick napkins that they wrapped around my can of soda to keep it insulated from the hot food. That level of detail is just... I love it so much! I will be ordering from Leopolds Tavern again.

Absolutely loved the Fried Mac Cheese Bites and Montreal Smoked Meat Poutine but everything was really tasty! The portions were big and very filling.

So fast and the omg the food!!! There was so much of it, my bf and I could not believe how heavy the bag was and how much food we got! Tasty as always

Leopolds never disappoints, but especially so after a long, hard day. This meal actually made my day. The food is so scrumptious, and folks, those taquitos...get em once, and theyll always have a place on your order. Thanks to the Leopolds team!

The taquito wrapping is so good. Id eat it alone dipped in a bunch of sauces. This weeks poutine is delicious and savoury (garlic Parmesan popcorn chicken) and the portion was huge. I was surprised to open it up and see two containers of it, but thrilled its packed for easy leftovers!
