Family friendly pub in residential area not easy to reach from kendal, unless they have transport

Very welcoming local pub. Called by this place as our daughter and her young family are moving to the local area and was pleased to find a great social atmosphere with many young families and as it happens a lot of fun with a great Elvis impersonator blasting out some classic songs in the corner. Looking forward to calling in every-time we pay our daughter a visit

Just had a lovely afternoon tea at The Heron with my granddaughter and we thoroughly enjoyed it .Christine is really nice and couldn't have made us more welcome .Nothing was too much trouble .Will definately be going again .Nice ambience and lovely clean toilets .x

Family-friendly, dog-friendly, friendly, welcoming staff, good atmosphere, good range of beers! Will certainly visit again!

This is my local favorite, and I can't recommend it enough. There's always something happening, whether it's a quiz night or karaoke. The staff is wonderful and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable.
