The Guest House - Kenmore

I chose to go here with my hiking partner after walking around St Edwards Park for a couple hours. The service was absolutely pleasant and the food was top notch! What a nice, relaxing restaurant. The constant evolving small menu makes it interesting and the food drinks are tasty. Friendly and attentive staff. The owner(s) take time to chat with the guests. Loved the whole experience . We had the pizza Lamb meatloaf sandwich. Pizza crust was thin and slightly chewy (in a good way) the bread to the sandwich was made of I believe the pizza dough? Very yummy. Owner mentioned they make their own dough/bread. Dessert was superb. And for someone who doesn’t usually drink alcohol, I finished the whole glass of their “Basil Haven”

Super-friendly environment, clever and creative flavors. This place is a treasure.The open, airy space makes me feel at home. It's both modern and homey. The staff is welcoming and warm with a perfect balance of professionalism. We had two plates from the farm fresh specials. I'm still thinking about the zucchini sauteed with toasted almonds and herb pesto, oh my word, so light and a perfect balance of flavor! My friend's favorite was the roasted carrots with whipped tahini. They were nicely caramelized and the tahini packed a fun punch!Our blue pizza was a dance of flavors. The peaches contrasted beautifully with the blue cheese and then the lemon and arugula gave it zing and pepperiness. The small wine list is full of delightful choices. We didn't have dessert this time, but previously I've had some wonderful treats, including a warm cookie with ice cream, oh my word! I'm so, so happy to have The Guest House in my neighborhood.
