Cafe Americana - KENNETT SQUARE

The food and service were amazing! This rustic restaurant has a lot of charm, making it a cozy spot for breakfast. We absolutely loved it!

The place was dug on Saturday morning, which I visited. Seat and wooden chair. A little tight, but there is the big little town feeling. The food was fabulous. The waiter suggested the Venezuela Eggs Benedict and they were exquisite. The local fries were only cunning fries, so don't expect too much. I added a page of links and they were juicy and tasty. The coffee was strong and delicious. It's in a supermarket strip mall. Lots of space for a swallowtail. You could even come in here with a full T

The prices are outrageous. I paid $9.25 for what they call a "Funny Pancake," which is just a chocolate chip pancake. Honestly, that's just crazy. A box of pancake mix costs about $2.50 and makes a whole bunch of pancakes, so I really don't understand the price point here. Sure, I get that there's inflation, but still! When I asked the girl at the front if I could cancel my pancake order, she told me it was already being made. I didn't want to argue, so I just left. I definitely won't be ordering pancakes from there again. Plus, trying to get someone on the phone is a hassle; I had to call multiple times just to reach someone.

Was not impressed by Cafe Americano. We were there on Saturday noon and they were out of one of their appetizers. Don't expect a real Philly cheese steak. It doesn't even come with onions, you have to add this and pay extra. My friend had chicken marsala and it was basically chicken with Gravy. On the bright side it tasted good, it was just not a chicken marsala. The cheese steak tasted good and the salad was full of a variety of vegetables. The service was slow. Given the diversity of restaurants near Longwood Gardens, I would probably not return here.

I've usually had great lunches from here, but my recent experience with a pick-up order was disappointing. I ordered a BLT wrap and specifically requested crispy bacon, but instead received a soggy, dripping mess with the stringy, microwaved bacon that you find at Subway. Given the price, I think I'll be choosing Subway from now on.
