Guesthouse - KENTFIELD

Cocktails are hit and miss as far as getting a good pour...... I am a frequent customer.. Love everything about the place except the amount of alcohol you get in your cocktail for the price you pay. Most bartenders provide a decent poor (nothing special), but one in particular gives you basically nothing. So you pay $25 or so for a glass of water. I 'm sure they are measuring the pour at the direction of the owners/management but this can be self defeating... I gauge whether I 'm drinking a cocktail or a beer based on whether a certain female bartender is working as she is the worst.

I thought it would be a nice place to celebrate our 36 year anniversary tonight. We had a great time.

I really wanted to love this place but not impressed. Food was just ok. Service was great and ambiance is good.

Ambiance was great and the service was passably fine. The food? Meh. The smoked trout appetizer came out looking amazing, but it was completely devoid of flavor beyond the potato cake it was served on. I had the game hen, which was pretty good. One of our party was vegan, and we asked the waiter what they could do. To his credit, he knew what the word vegan meant, and said, yes, we just put all the vegetables on the plate , and boy, he wasn 't kidding: when the plate came out it was just an assortment of root vegetables on a plate, swimming with olive oil. There was a red pepper sauce underneath which made it more appealing, but some beans, some pasta, or something would have made this more of a dish and less of an afterthought. It 's 2023. Get with it! Nearly every table has at least one vegetarian/vegan at it!

I've been to guesthouse many many times and it never disappoints. Great food, ambiance and drinks every visit!! The truffle fries are to die for and I have yet to order something off the menu that is meh! Just a great restaurant overall!
