The Cookshop Kitchen - Keswick

I was quite disappointed with my recent order at this restaurant. The chicken sandwich lacked flavor and was missing the Pickles that were supposed to come with it. I ordered it as a meal with poutine for $21, but was disappointed to find that the poutine was made with mozzarella instead of traditional cheese curds, making it a soggy mess. Poutine just isn't the same without the curds. The owner always seems grumpy and rushed, but the cook is always cheerful and happy. The fries were mostly small bits and ends, with very few actual fries. On the bright side, the Pepsi was served frosty. Overall, not a great experience.

I recently dined at this restaurant for the first time and tried the fish and chips. It was honestly the best fish and chips I have ever had. The chef clearly knows what he's doing and the food was exceptional. I am definitely bringing my family back for dinner next week.

Wow! Seldom do I hand out a 5 star rating but then again, the food spoke volumes. Hit the spot. First time visiting, will definitely be back and highly recommend this place. The reviews speak for themselves!PROS: Excellent customer service; phone order before pickup; all forms of payment accepted e.g., credit, debit, cash; made fresh when ordered- 15min avg. wait time; unique flavor and made with love; catered to my wants i.e. fries crispy, extra gravy, add chillies etc.; plenty of parking; food pricing is well below what it's worth; portions are huge, could not finish the poutine or smoked sausage;CONS: Longer hours would be ideal; some more items on the menu would be nice; when take out is ordered, closed container instead of open food would be preferable;

These guys always have great food. Tje specials are amazing.
