My wife and I are early risers, and since most places open at 8am, we picked up 2 Cafe Con Leeche to go along with a Cuban sandwich, for the next morning. It was a challenge not to tear into it on the walk back to Jordan room, but we held strong so we would have it the next morning. Both warmed up well and gave us the energy to trek down and watch the sunrise. Each of the coffees was enough for 2 cups and the sandwich is more than big enough to spilt for breakfast. Both were very favorable and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a way to get going in the morning.
One of the strongest coffees I've ever had in my life it was late and we needed a pick me up coffee to drive back to Miami so not a lot of choices when it comes to Cuban coffee in Key West at a late hour but Fernandys Cafe came to the rescue! Delicious, very flavorful and super strong. The food smelt really good too, and a lot of people were picking up orders to go. It's a food truck but with an area to sit down. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely exceeded our expectations and I would definitely go back to try their food and have more coffee!
THE CUBAN WAS AMAZING !!! wish there was a few more pickles (I love pickles a lot) but anyway Get the Cuban !!!!!
Late night food stop. Called ahead and ordered a midnight sandwich (basically a Cuban but on sweet bread). They said 15 min wait time. I didn't think they were serious, but they were! I definitely waited awhile when I arrived. The place was almost empty. Two other couples inside, one of which was waiting for a to go order. When I saw his order, I realized why I was waiting so long. The sandwich was amazing. Worth the wait. For $8 I got this huge sandwich and fries. It was full of meat. Probably the best medianoche i have ever had. Parking is terrible. Peak on the street and walk. Thank god for uber, he dropped me off and waited. Menu had a lot more to offer and I hear it's good for breakfast too. Check it out. They even have real coffee there. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Located in a parking lot along with a lot of construction equipment this is a solid option for mostly Cuban specialties between Truman and Duval close to Duval Square. We have eaten here four times in the past two years. Tasty platters of ropa vija and garlic chicken as well as a range of tacos. Other diners praised the Cuban mixed sandwich. It takes about fifteen minutes after you order to get your food. Generous portions. Platters come with plantains, yellow rice and beans. Beans were a bit watery. 4 stars for average rating over two years (2021-2022.
