Southernmost Beach Cafe - Key West

We were there for beach side dining to celebrate our Anniversary. We were so very disappointed... The appetizers were HORRIBLE: We ordered the Oysters on the half shell, which were so small, that 6 of them did not equal enough meat for 1 1/2 regular sized oysters. They also had zero flavor. The second appetizer of Grilled Octopus was so overcooked and rubbery. We have had grilled octopus numerous times for decades and this was the worst ever. SERVICE our server never cracked a smile, and her attitude was: she could care less if we were there. hohum. After we placed our order, which she kept rushing us to make, and after we got our second round of drinks, she never came back to see if we needed anything else. We asked to speak to the Restaurant Manager. He was very nice and removed the two appetizers from the invoice. We didn't ask for it, but he did so any way. PS we went to outdoor Bar and had a FANTASTIC SERVER a couple of says before, who couldn't do enough for you... she was fun, and when we ordered our food, she was prompt and polite. Made us feel good to be at the Bar. Would NOT recommend the Restaurant, but would recommend their outside Bar.

We had a great dinner overlooking the ocean. Service was great, food was good, and it was a great value.

Mediocre food. Very salty . Mediocre service. Beautiful location right on beach, go for lunch instead of dinner. Can't see sunset from restaurant.

My husband found hair on his plate at the restaurant. The manager came over to apologize and explained that she believed it was from the food runner since it was just a short hair.

Really hoped I would be able to provide a better review, but unfortunately the overall experience was seriously lacking. The biggest contributor was that there was a large group with a microphone and slideshow doing an endless game of trivia. This truly impacted the evening we were hoping for…a beautiful night for dinner on the ocean and a great meal was completely overshadowed by this group. It made it feel like a noisy bar….as a result, when the check arrived it truly created an OUCH moment. Other than this group, there were only a few other tables…many walked up to potentially get a seat, but then walked away. I truly believe it was because of the noise level.
