This place has the most important 2 elements that makes it one of the best in Kiev. The food is meticulously crafted and the service is impeccable. All take place in a setting with beautiful ambiance and an interior design that paid attention to the details. We walked to there after a Ballet show at the nearby Kiev Opera House and had a couple of seats by the window while a duo of musicians were playing their last set. I ordered a dozen Girardeau Oysters for the first course. They were perfectly chucked, presented and better priced than most other establishments in Kiev. Dima was an excellent waiter who helped me and my friend choose our second courses. I ordered the Lamb chops that was perfectly seasoned and prepared. Based on Dima’s recommendation, she ordered a warm salad for the first course and a fillet of Chilean Sea Bass that was out of this world for the second course. You can littrarly dissect the layers of juicy meat like you would an accordion as the level of preparation was on point where the fish was cooked yet the fat layers have melted just enough to add flavor without compromising the juiciness. This level of cooking does not come by chance. We wanted to accompany each course with the perfect wine pairing, so we ordered by the glass. We got help from the sommelier, Aleksey, who as we say in the US, really knows his sh . I am a wine enthusiast myself and enjoyed chatting about our preferences with him. While they did not have my favorite Châteauneuf-du-Pape by the glass, he recommended a comparable alternative that was predominantly Grenache blended with the proper ratio of Syrah and Mourvedre. He even met the challenging task of recommending to my friend her perfect pairing as she prefers her wine on the semi sweeter side. What an unforgettable treat from Denis, Aleksey, the Chef and entire host staff that made us feel more at home than in a top notch restaurant. My trips to Kiev cannot be complete without a visit to this place.
*COVID: They didn't ask us for certificates! *Enterance: no-one there to welcome us! *Food: average way overpriced! *Good place for kalyan/ nargila lovers! *Service: server completely inattentive, waitor asked for a tip told us how much he wanted! *OH, they've free Wi-Fi!
Great place to impress the easily impressed. Food is tasty but overpriced. Wine is ridiculously overpriced. Waiters are professional and friendly but RUIN the entire experience by asking for a tip at the end of a meal. A tip by definition is an optional bonus. Asking for one is both illogical and self destructive as it sends a message to the guest that they are either idiots or skinflints.
Very disappointing it used to be one of the best places in Kyiv, but today 's experience was simply terrible. They serve a wine list and then explain that all they have is 5 types of red wine. They serve well done as medium rare and the cherry on the cake was a piece of plastic in one main dish. Pity, but there are many other good places in town.
