The main course options also had limited vegan selections, with only 2 out of 4 options being suitable for vegans. We enjoyed the panisse, a delicious fried chickpea fritter, but found the grilled tofu lacking in flavor and sauce. For dessert, there was only one vegan option available - sorbet. While the food was enjoyable, we felt that the limited vegan choices did not justify the high price of $110 for a 3-course meal. We were hoping for more creativity and variety in the vegan offerings. Overall, Wailea Hotel is a better spot for vegetarians than vegans. However, we appreciate the effort to offer a vegetarian prix fixe menu at a lower price than the non-vegetarian option. We hope that on our next visit, there will be more vegan options available, with more thought put into creating flavorful and satisfying dishes.
The chef and local ingredients at this restaurant are truly impressive! We had both breakfast and dinner here. The breakfast menu is labeled as vegetarian and dairy-free, while the dinner menu is vegetarian with options to make everything vegan. There were lovebirds and native birds flying around, adding to the charming atmosphere. The waitstaff was excellent. For breakfast, the avocado toast and healthy start breakfast were both delicious. For dinner, which has a fixed price of 3 courses for 110, the tomato salad was decent but the Panisse and dessert (mango puree in a white chocolate casing) were both outstanding. I highly recommend this place, just be prepared for a fancy splurge dinner!
I called in advance to make a reservation and let them know I was vegan. They were able to accommodate me with a full vegan menu that offered options for a 3 or 4-course dinner.
I asked for our reservation and mentioned that I was a vegan. they offered a complete vegan menu with options that I could choose for a 3 or 4-course dinner!
Good food but not worth the $400 tab for a couple. Also, made 5:15 reservations to see the sunset but we were seated in the garden with no view.
