Bridie's General Store

A very rustic institution! we sat outside and it was nice, even with the rain. they have covered seating and heating on (there is actually one.

I love this place! every time I'm in Kilkenny, I'll dive in to enjoy the nostalgia! the shopfront is beautiful! a fabulous old bike is with the front.

This cafeteria has the appearance of a typical old pharmacy in Italy or a warehouse when viewed from above. In the window, handcrafted candy is displayed and as you proceed inside, you will find a slightly dark wooden dining room where you can enjoy your meal. There is also a garden with leather tables and armchairs, as well as a terrace. The overall feel of the place is reminiscent of the 1900s, including the old-style bathroom. I only tried the macarons, which I found to be too sweet and more akin to Pasta Reale than the traditional Macarons Pasta. Despite this, I would still recommend this restaurant.

We enjoyed drinks at Bridie's Bar. I decided to try a new non-alcoholic gin called Rosé, while my sister opted for a beer. It was a pleasant experience. The staff was friendly and attentive. This is a wonderful place. To top it off, we had the opportunity to meet Stephen Rea, the actor from The Crying Game, and his musician/poet friends.

This is the perfect spot for drinks or coffee. The staff is very friendly and the place has a lot of character. It's definitely my new favorite place in Kilkenny.
