The Sportsman - Killarney

Very nice bar. Lovely bar staff. Great service, even have my favourite tipple

As soon as we walked in, we were warmly welcomed and seated at the back near the big screen. The bartender, who was fantastic, was more than happy to put the race on for us, even though he wasn’t a fan of F1 himself. Throughout the night, he brought our drinks to the table and made sure to check in with my husband before we left, asking if he was happy with our experience. There was also a talented musician playing guitar and singing, which added to the atmosphere. We had the pleasure of meeting some incredibly kind local people as well. A large group at the nearby tables was celebrating two family birthdays, and the men next to us struck up a conversation. They were some of the friendliest people we encountered during our trip, which is saying a lot given how welcoming everyone was. We ended up chatting with them all night and barely watched the race! One of the gentlemen even showed us a clever trick using a piece of paper and scissors. We visited many bars and great places during our stay, but The Sportsmans Bar truly stood out as the best. This is a fantastic little pub located in the heart of Killarney, Ireland. The staff were incredibly helpful in arranging to show the State of Origin Rugby League game for us Australians. In addition to being a pub, they also offer accommodations: 4 double rooms, 1 family room, and 2 single rooms, which all come with tea and coffee-making facilities.

The Sportsman's Bar is always a great spot to enjoy a drink. The staff are lovely and very friendly. However, you will need to bring your vaccination card or green certificate to enter the pub. If you aren't fully vaccinated, unfortunately, you won't be able to come in.

Wonderful pub for a pint and watch a match.
