Aside from and the main event, the Drinks are half price at happy hour. It's a family friendly spot in the heart of Grand Prairie. Don Juan's has always been there, at the same location, with the same retro pre Interstate roadside restaurant motif.
Wonderful food. I got the stewed chicken and my husband got the stewed goat! It was amazingly tender and had great flavor!! A medium was PlENTy of food. We both got the black rice on recommendation from out waiter and oh man we were NOT sad!!! Delicious food!!!
Worth the drive from Austin. Love to explore unique cuisine and this is the best Haitian food I have had, it even beats the restaurants I have tried on the east coast. If you are trying Haitian food for the first time, the meals here come with a choice of rice (I especially love the red beans and rice), pikliz (a marinated cabbage/carrot slaw with a little bit of heat), plantains, and a choice of meat. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. I especially love the pate kode-it is a patty filled with chicken and vegetables and the dough is amazing! They also have glass bottles of Fanta. The restaurant is small, but clean and friendly.
Went here twice through out the week and theY was NEVER OPEN FIX YOUR HOURS !
My daughters live in Harker Heights. They were overjoyed to take me to Gou lakay. I really enjoyed the food. I didn't miss Florida too much. Clean, courteous and good food. WOW!
