Breakfast consisted of cereals, toast, Maddie's delicious homemade granola, yogurts, and fruit. Lunch options included homemade soup or baked potatoes with fresh bread and salad. For dinner, we enjoyed dishes such as shepherd's pie, linseed cake, greens, and byhalate, with a light dessert to follow. There were also outdoor activities with low intensity, and both the guest house and rose sanctuary have some steps. I highly recommend this retreat for anyone looking to relax, recharge, and carve out some time for themselves.
This retreat, led by Maddie, is not only a fantastic guide but also an excellent cook! I attended the Deep Heart Retreat, which allowed me to stay from Saturday to Thursday with the option to extend for an extra night for a small fee. The retreat is located in a rental house with a lovely garden and stunning sea views, with Maddie's Rose Shrine nearby. The schedule included two group meetings per day, starting on Sunday morning and ending with the last session on Thursday morning. We had one indoor meeting and one in the sanctuary daily, where Maddie taught us simple meditation techniques and shared tips on living with compassion. All meals, healthy snacks, and hot drinks were provided. Breakfast consisted of cereals, toast, Maddie's delicious homemade granola, yogurts, and fruits. Lunch options included homemade soup or baked potatoes with fresh bread and salad, while dinners were hearty, such as Shepherdess lens cake with green salad. Dessert was also served after dinner. Outdoor sessions were available, with some steps leading to the guest house and Rose Sanctuary. Overall, I highly recommend this retreat for relaxation, recharging, and finding some much-needed personal space.
