The Royal Oak - Kingsbridge

Stayed a couple of nights here whilst visiting Salcombe. Close enough to Salcombe to drive there in 10 minutes but away from the madness and crowds of Salcombe. Room was ideal for one person, clean and with a big newly renovated bathroom, good size TV and kettle. Quiet at night Very nice host who provided a great breakfast. The food was freshly cooked to order and incredibly tasty. We enjoyed a hearty cooked breakfast every morning, had fish and chips one evening, and were fortunate to be there for quiz night, where we tried the delicious curry. The pub hasn't been stripped of its charm by modern renovations and is adorned with a fascinating collection of quirky items that I found both interesting and fun. There’s a pool table, and a small courtyard out back, which adds to the ambiance. The owner and all of the staff we interacted with were wonderful and friendly, making us feel right at home. When we return, we will definitely choose to stay at the Royal Oak again. Thank you for a truly enjoyable experience!
