Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen - Kingsport

The waitress was a bit arrogant. When I asked for extra bread, she informed me it would cost a dollar per piece. When the food arrived, it was all cold, and this was during lunch time.

The restaurant is fairly average, but it's a convenient place to grab a bite. We've consistently received good service during our visits. There tends to be a wait, but it's generally not too long.

We hadn't returned in eight years due to a previous unpleasant experience, but we decided to give it another try. We'll definitely not be making that mistake again! The table was sticky, and we ordered the...

Food itself was delicious. Service, not at all. Entrees came out prior to my salad. They also came out without my wife's coleslaw. Server acknowledged his error and said he'd being them right out. Then he proceeded to take the order of the table next to ours. When he finally brought out the salad, he did so with the salads of table next to us meaning I waited even longer while he made all of them...and guess what? Still forgot the coleslaw. At that point we asked for the coleslaw in a to go container along with a box. Brought out the coleslaw but no box. That took almost 5 minutes to get. Box arrived with the check. Asked for a bag which took just under 7 minutes to arrive. Food was great, service sucked.

We have been loyal patrons of the Cheddar's chain since its inception many years ago, but we recently encountered several disappointing experiences in Tennessee and other states. However, our faith in Cheddar's has been rejuvenated after our visit to the Kingsport location. The food was fantastic, our server Aimee was incredibly attentive, and, most importantly, the restaurant was clean and well-managed. My wife, who typically orders seafood, decided to try the Dijon chicken and mushrooms and ended up taking home half of her entree because the portion was so generous. I ordered a medium-well cheeseburger and was pleased that it was cooked perfectly, avoiding the common issue of needing to send it back for more cooking. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience that we definitely plan to repeat, especially at the Kingsport restaurant.
