Waffle House - Kingsport

The food is great, and I really enjoy the waffles—plus, the prices are reasonable. However, the restaurant could use some cleaning. On two out of the last three visits, our check was incorrect and would have resulted in us being overcharged. When we brought it to their attention, they fixed it, so it wasn’t too bad, but if we hadn’t caught it, we would have overpaid on two occasions.

My boyfriend ordered biscuits and gravy, but while everyone else received their meals, his was missing. We reminded the staff several times that he hadn't gotten his food yet. After 15-20 minutes, they finally informed us that the gravy was spoiled, so they couldn't serve it. As a result, he ended up with nothing to eat. Additionally, they forgot my waffle, which was supposed to come with my meal. Overall, our food took an incredibly long time to arrive.

Late at night and into the early morning, this place is still open 24 hours! I ordered two eggs cooked over medium with Texas-style toast (definitely ask for a packet of mayo to turn it into an egg sandwich) and hash browns. It was only $5.25, including tax and tip! I also enjoyed a cup of freshly brewed coffee, which came with plenty of creamer and sugar.

Probably the worst Waffle House in America. They claim to be too busy to take call in orders at 5am, and then you drive by on the way to work and there is no one in the parking lot. Either they answer and tell you they are too busy, or don 't answer atall. My co-workers experienced the same issues. Once I called in and was told they didn 't make my order because they got "busy "AFTER I called in. So my order should have been first anyway. I love Waffle House so I kept trying. The W. Stone Drive WaffleHouse is the worst managed Waffle House in the USA.

The service at 2 AM was impressive given the late hour. The breakfast food is excellent. My only complaint is that it's very cold outside, and nobody can adjust the temperature to make it warmer, probably as part of a standard restaurant policy. Overall, it’s a great place to eat—just be sure to dress warmly!
