Aji Sai Japanese Restaurant - Kingston

Ordered take out. I found the sushis pretty good but some were too big and they all seem to have some kind of sauce on them. More mushy than firm overall. It is okay sushi but not the best.

Aji Sai is delicious! They have a ton of variety and dishes to choose from. Sometimes the service is slow or they forget a thing or two but usually they're good.

Went to this restaurant today.When we sat down asked the waitress if we could order ala carte from the menu as we all didn't want to eat all you can eat. She said yes. When we sat down and looked at the menu two out of the four of us decided on all you can eat and two others wanted to order ala carte. The waitress told us this was not possible. It had to be all ala carte or all full all you can eat. So we were perplexed and disappointed with her response nonetheless ordered all you can eat. She never told us also there was a $2 surcharge on weekends for an already steep price of $22.95 per adult. The food was so bad. This was the worst sushi place I have eaten anywhere in Canada! The sashimi was old and tasted awful, the sushi was poorly made with tons of sauce and unpalatable. The teriyaki beef was dry, excessively chewy and drenched in sauce. My son order a mango tango sushi roll which was shrimp and mango. The problem was that it was again drenched with mango nectar and tasted so sweet it was unpalatable. We even had to ask for wasabi. What Japanese resultant do you have to ask for wasabi and gingered pickle?It's usually an included accompaniment. We actually never got the gingered pickle in the end. The staff were young and really didn't care about service. The place was a little run down for a downtown establishment surrounded by other nicer venues. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The bill was $110 and I felt very upset as my son and I came to visit and take my daughter and her friend, who both attend Queen's, for a nice sushi dinner.

I'm Japanese. I grew up on this stuff. This place couldn't be more average. Some choices were good, some were dreadful, some could have been fresher. The washroom could use a little attention as well. Price is right though especially for lunch. Not impressed.

There was a pile of dirty dishes sitting on top of the bar counter the sushi chef was passing food across to the server for the entire time we were there. It was disgusting. The server was rude to us from the moment we arrived. The sushi was just okay, and their indifference about cleanliness made eating here unsettling...
