Al Porto - Kingston-upon-Hull

This is a fantastic Italian restaurant that provides a unique atmosphere with beautiful views of the Hull marina. Housed in an old brick building, the interplay of lights and colors creates a cozy and inviting ambiance. The food is truly delicious and consistently surprises me, especially with the outstanding selection of ingredients, including the excellent extra virgin olive oil sourced directly from Italy. I will definitely return and highly recommend it to friends and family!

I've visited Al Porto a couple of times, and I've never had a bad meal here. The menu is on the pricier side, but the food is absolutely fantastic and clearly made with very fresh ingredients. The restaurant itself is beautiful, featuring a cozy red brick interior that creates an intimate atmosphere—perfect for a date night. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that getting there by car can be a bit inconvenient (though there are no issues when leaving), and the entrance is rather strange, located in a multi-use building with two flights of stairs that feel more like an office. It doesn’t seem to have disabled access either. Overall, it's a great experience, and if I ever find myself back in Hull, I would definitely return.

The restaurant is located on the first or second floor, providing beautiful views of the marina from the windows. The interior is rustic yet beautifully decorated, maintaining the industrial feel of the building. It features a large bar area and well-spaced tables, which create a much better acoustic environment compared to some of the busier places we’ve visited. Although the restaurant was lively that night, it wasn’t overwhelmingly loud, and the atmosphere was truly inviting. As for the food, it was exquisite. My partner opted for the venison Wellington from the specials menu, while I chose the filet steak from the main menu. Both dishes were beautifully presented, expertly cooked, and utterly delicious. We started with appetizers that were equally delightful, and for the first time in a long while, we both indulged in dessert. Not that we were still hungry—our meals were so delicious that we felt compelled to try a dessert, and we were not disappointed! While I can’t afford to dine here regularly, I would love to return for a special occasion. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking high-quality food served in a lovely atmosphere, where the staff greet you with smiles. If you’re after cheap, average fare, look elsewhere; you won’t find it here. However, if you crave delicious, original recipes cooked to perfection and served by attentive staff who genuinely care about their customers, then this is the place for you. We will definitely be coming back!

My colleague and I went to the restaurant al porto on Thursday and were blown away from our eating! the restaurant has a really nice, chilled atmosphere, but still keeps a level of class. I had the liveliers to begin, followed by the best risotto I've ever tasted. my colleague had to start the garlic puzzles and the spaghetti carbonara for its main. that was nice to eat.

Lovely romantic dining. Excellent Italian cuisine. Set in one of Hulls iconic converted dock front buildings it provides a great view of the river and marina. Good seafood options and a large wine and spirits selection.
