The soup was barley warm, bead cakes really hard (couldn't cut them never mind bite into them), Feta tomatoes soggy. Hardly any Turkey left (SCRAPS)....Gammon was really difficult to cut. Pigs in blankets greasy. Vegetables Chantey carrots over cooked and soggy with burnt ends, sprouts soggy, Cabbage was more like soggy shredded sea weed and roast potatoes (were more like new potatoes just fried up quickly in a shallow frying pan. Dessert was what was left over from breakfast (which is why they probably called it brunch at O clock PM??? Pain Au Chocolat, Croissant, some king of mouse, which they called a smoothie, and a breakfast muffin (with seeds on them). NOT GOOD ENOUGH especially when your paying plus for a family. Nothing at all for kids they tried things but didn't like any of it, even the muffins. ........mint sauce was OK. Wont be returning or recommending
For starters, we ordered an onion and goat cheese tart, but it was dry and tasteless. The dish was missing ingredients like hazelnuts and an orange drizzle. The pastry was so dry that it felt like eating crisps with a knife and fork. The main course was sea trout on a lime and coriander risotto with a shellfish chowder. The fish was overcooked, the risotto was mushroom-flavored, and there were raw carrots and garden peas on the plate. The chowder turned out to be a cream sauce with no shellfish in sight. We sent it back and opted for a plate of fries instead. For dessert, I ordered a cheeseboard which came with raspberries and sliced oranges that were moldy. My wife had a trifle which was equally disappointing. We complained to the event manager, who apologized for the poor quality of the food and service. She offered us a full refund for our stay and the event, along with a complimentary stay in a club room. Unfortunately, our experience didn't improve at breakfast the next morning. All the items on my plate were cold, so I settled for a slice of toast. The housekeeping manager also approached us to discuss our complaints and promised a full refund, but that offer was later retracted. Overall, this was the worst meal we have ever had and we were extremely dissatisfied with our experience at the Village Hotel.
We had a wonderful time at the Verve Grill in the Village Hotel this afternoon. The afternoon tea was delicious and reasonably priced. One of our group members has celiac disease, and she was impressed with the variety of gluten-free options available to her. Overall, it is definitely worth a visit, but it's recommended to make a reservation ahead of time.
I was pleasantly surprised to find such delicious food at a chain hotel. Steve and his team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The quality and presentation of the dishes were exceptional, and we would definitely dine here again. The portions were generous and satisfying.
Booked the restaurant as part of the Sunday special with Village Hotel. Upon arrival staff was super friendly, provided us with comfortable seating. Food was served quickly and the portion and quality size is to not disappoint! Would recommend ...
