Feedback geven...versus the hustle and bustle of the Bentalls centre and central Kingston on a manic pay day Saturday, the restaurant on 3 was a pleasantly calm place to eat at. Not entirely sure about the staffing levels and the 1 person on a till who spoke poor English and was pretty slow wasn't great. However, the guy doing the fired pizzas was super friendly, and the pizzas themselves were pretty good actually, as were the chips which were freshly cooked...the only down side was that the toppings on the pizza are very stingy...4 tiny slices of sausage on a pepperoni pizza! Also very confusing with their wine offer...it says a glass of wine can be added for £2.50, but all I could see was little bottles of wine in the chiller but no pricing whatsoever. When I got to the till, they told me the bottles were a higher price, so I asked for the glass of wine. Sadly when served, this white wine was served warm which is utterly ludicrous! This is just such a basic schoolboy error! Places like this have such an opportunity to do so much business but do themselves a dis-service with a massively disjointed food drink selection, far too little information (eg. pricing) and poor execution of the offer...the desserts looked pretty amazing for example, but I didn't bother with a donut since again, the pricing was missing for this. Get the basics right, and this could be a nice haven from the shopping manic-dom in Kingston town centre, so much room for improvement, but our experience was OK overall.
This was our first experience here and will definitely be our last! Overpriced, appalling food and terrible service! Had to wait ages for a new batch of baked potatoes to come out, took 2 staff to make a terrible job of preparing potatoes and toppings. To their credit they did cover the plates with silver covers in an attempt to keep them warm. Then had 2 queue for ages to get hot drinks and pay. Took almost 40 minutes from start to paying!! It cost £18.50 for 2 potatoes and 2 teas! When we eventually sat down, and lifted the lids on our lunch, the potatoes were anaemic, hard, straight from the microwave, cut into 4 quarters, luke warm and swimming in a plate of melted butter! My daughter had asked for a feta tomato and avocado topping it was mostly warm mush! The tea was loose leaf in pots, however the strainers within the pots didn't work so ended up with lots of bits floating in my tea. I did not have the time or energy after waiting 40 mins to eat to take it all back and complain. I would have asked for a refund if there was a staff member available and I was not prepared to queue again. I will never eat here again.
This is a lovely quiet restaurant at the top of the Bentalls Centre. My husband chose the pizza of the day and I had a pastry. There is a wide variety of food from which to choose and plenty of seating.
Wilted salads, tired looking salmon, staff is not interested in you whatsoever. Waiting to be served, waiting in the line to pay. The server gave me our order number but didn't cook it or bring it to us. I had to go back after awhile and ask for it, literary order it again.Tables full of dirty dishes as no one cleared them. Customers had to clear the tables themselves taking dirty dishes on a table to the side. Tables are filthy and sticky, probably have never been cleaned properly. Especially in between the joints. I have used a paper napkin and plain water (see photos). Disgusting.
Visited on a Sunday lunchtime, restaurant was very quiet but was told it would be a 25 minute wait. Seemed odd but fair enough. When food eventually came chopped salad was tired and lettuce was brown. Smoked Salmon Bagel was a burger bun with Salmon in it ? No explanation till I asked and was told they had run out of bagels ? Well come and ask me if I want to change my order then.dont try and hope i wont notice...they are quite different things....would you serve me a burger in a bagel ? I think perhaps you would. Sooo many places to eat in Kingston. Just go somewhere else.
