This is a very traditional café, and as such was not too inviting from the outside, but the lunch selection, the service is all really good, and a welcome change from all the chains in the area now. Recommended

We stopped at this cafe mid afternoon on a Sunday because there was parking right outside of the door. The menu was extensive and so reasonably priced that we were spoilt for choice. Having made our decision we ordered a lasagne and a mixed grill from the very attentive waiter. The meal was delivered in a reasonably quick time and the portions were huge. The lasagne was the best my wife had ever had, home made and full of flavour. This was presented with chips and a well constructed side salad. My mixed grill was substantial and a good assortment of meats, the lamb chop being the best thing on the plate, it was so tasty. This was accompanied by a copious amount of peas and chips. We were so full that we ended up having to leave some on our plates, something we seldom do but we were just stuffed! Our second cup of tea was complimentary, which is a rare thing these days. All in all, an excellent find, with excellent value for money and we are only sorry that we do not live in the area to make this a regular event. These owners have got it right so keep up the good work!

When I was studying in Britain, it was my favourite joint where I had my morning breakfast. the average price of their plate is about 6 to 7 pfunds. eat good quality and really good part to keep them full, mostly throughout the day. kuddos to the owners of surbiton cafe, ali and small joe.

Ok the outer may not look trendy, but it has great food, great portions, really nice staff, al was so friendly to buy milk to ask my daughter! good price for money. we are back!
