Aura Cafe - Kingston

Visited today Friday May 13th for lunch, had not pre booked. We were warmly greeted and immediately seated with water and menus. Lovely selection of entrees, mains and desserts, also offered an excellent wine selection. Everything was reasonably priced. We both opted for the fish of the day, which was beautifully battered and expertly cooked., it came with nicely cooked chips and a lovely balsamic dressed salad.The meal and service were faultless. The woman ( should have asked her name) who greeted us as well as waited on the tables, was a pleasure to deal with, she was good humoured and made you feel very at home. I cannot believe we have been missing out all this time and will certainly be making this a favourite. Thanks for a great lunch experience.

Staff were good but the food very average. Was with a group of lovely older ladies for a xmas lunch. Comments from them include: under cooked steaks, tasteless turkey and chicken and bananas overripe. We may be older ladies but still have good taste buds. Shame but probably won't go back there again.

The staff are so much fun, it was as if we'd known each other ages, we were both taking the mickey the whole afternoon!

This is our favourite place to go in Kingston for a bistro meal! It’s clean and modern with a good bar selection and great menu. The menu is updated seasonally which has its pro’s and con’s as your favourite dish is never around for long however it keeps the venue from going stale as happens so often with bistro meals. Last night 4 of us went for dinner which included 1 child. The kids menu is good and also includes a drink and ice-cream, it also has a picture on it for colouring in and the venue supply the pencils. We were the only diners there last night when we first arrived so I was a bit frustrated when our meals took 40minutes to arrive. However it was worth the wait! The stuffed chicken breast was great as were the schnitzels! We often dine here and we would recommend it to anyone wanting a good bistro meal!

We weren't sure what to expect as the hotel is in a residential area and didn't think it was well known.It was very busy but we were not kept waiting at all.The food was extremely good and one of the best meals I've eaten in Hobart.
