Malay Kitchen - Kinsale

We have ordered from Malay Kitchen for takeout twice now and both times the meals were delicious. The noodles, fried rice, prawns, chicken, and spicy beef were all well-spiced and generously portioned. The meals were served piping hot, making for a perfect dinner at home, especially on rainy days.

We dined at this restaurant after having too many meals with fries during our stay in Cork. It was absolutely delicious. The authentic Asian food had a wide variety of options and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Although it's primarily a takeaway spot, we were able to fit in with a double stroller and two babies.

I was disappointed to pay a high price for a dish at this restaurant that was lacking in meat and filled with cheap vegetables. I ordered the chicken laksa, hoping for the same flavors I had enjoyed in Australia, but I was let down. The dish was more like a coconut broth with a hint of spice, missing the complex flavors of a traditional laksa. The noodles were fried in soy sauce, which I did not enjoy with the coconut broth. The majority of the meal consisted of cabbage, carrots, and noodles, with only a few small pieces of broccoli, green beans, and chicken. The dish ended up spilling in my car on the way home, which was frustrating as we had ordered takeout. I suggest improving the packaging to prevent leaks and considering lowering the prices. For the amount I paid, I expected more quality ingredients. Unfortunately, this experience has made us decide not to return to this restaurant. We had hoped for a great Malaysian dining experience in Kinsale, but this place did not meet our expectations.

The quality of food is good. The timing is good. The potion size are small. Extra chicken is a must. There were missing items and no understanding from the restaurant. In my opinion it is very expensive for takeaway (100e for 6 people!!!

I’ve gotten takeaway from here a few times for the last few months. Always had really nice food and give large portions.
