Hotel-Restaurant Zum Schwanen

Two servers said they had no tables without reservations, but another waiter was very nice and seated us and served us. The food was excellent, we had steak.

I had dinner at the restaurant while staying at the hotel, and had an excellent dinner. Ordered the Cordon Bleu, accompanied by a couple of German weissen. The staff where very friendly, and the atmosphere in the restaurant good.

We were not expecting much when we arrived. The interior looks new with a modern touch, but with very basic and plain furniture. I prefer dimmer or stylish lighting in order to avoid the "cafeteria" look, and a warmer decor. Nonetheless, the service was professional and efficient. The dishes were well prepared and surprisingly good. The steaks especially stood out and were worth mentioning. (It is not easy to find quality, tasty steak, and/or it grilled properly in Germany.)Price vs. quality was very fair for a nice, casual dinner.

Excellent multiple course dinner with great wine. Best meal we had in Germany maybe because of close proximity to France! Great service.
