zum Baren - Kirchheim unter Teck

Very good for to meet friends walking along, have a rest during shopping, fresh beer and good food. The owner has changed some month before and the new one just finds a new face for his restaurant. The "Bären" was a special beer-pub before and meetingpoint for old and young.

Sitting on typical german beer tables, I enjoyed a refreshing beer and was surprised by the range of food they offered. Good choice.

We stopped in today as it was Sunday and most everything is closed and it was raining. Had terrific salads and very nice glasses of wine including new wine that was local. Service was excellent and no one was smoking. Also had lunch outside this past august. Food was fine, service good and a great spot outside on the ped. Street.

We went here for some drinks. Prices are okay, service is fast enough. The place was crowded and there is outdoor seating available. What I really hated about this locale was the fact that everybody smoked everywhere. There is one entrance, where it seems to be okay to stand and smoke it, meaning that all customers have to walk through smoke. Inside came the next pleasant surprise: there is a smokers room, which is not separated from the main room at all. Even worse, if you want to go to the loo there is no other way to get there but to go across this room filled with smoke. That's an absolute joke to me - I know that Kirchheim is rural, but I would not have expected this. The waitress did not seem to care when I asked her. I will not come here again.
