Our server 's name was Jamie, and he was very helpful in guiding us through the menu. He helped us select a wine. And brought it out on ice with bread to share. The bread had a light olive oil dressing and had so much flavor that the butter set out with it wasn 't even needed. My boyfriend and I joked that we could just eat that all night! Our appetizers were the Penn cove muscles and sweet corn ravioli I cannot speak highly enough of the muscles, they were cooked in a white wine reduction with chorizo and saffron which gave it a little kick! Not spicy at all but very flavorful ps: ask for bread to dip into the leftover broth!! SO good! The sweet corn ravioli was good, it was served with an English pea pesto and hazelnuts and what I believe was a pea shoot garnish.. I thought this was brilliant because instead of just getting the mush from the ravioli you also enjoyed the crunch of the hazelnuts which added good texture. if you don 't like peas, don 't get this it had a very hearty rich pea flavor to it. What a great start to our dinner, I was so excited for it mains: Diver scallop and the saffron seafood risotto The scallops topped with goat cheese were so creamy and sliced like butter! I had some fresh mixed vegetables below it and a blackberry reduction that paired well with the saltiness of the dish! It looked small but it had a richness to it and after the bread and appetizers and wine I was pleasantly full. The risotto was by far one of the BEST risottos I 've ever tasted. It was so creamy and rich I would highly recommend this dish if you are a fan of creamy rich dishes like a seafood fettuccini Alfredo. You could really taste the process in cooking this, there were so many different levels of flavor. We finished off with a gluten free avocado cake/brownie? topped with gooseberries and lavender ice cream. I don 't know if I would eat this again, I 'm a pretty traditional dessert girl, but they did a great job! If you are gluten free this is a great option but I 'm just more of a fan of the real thing. We left so happy, we will have to be back. Thank you for a wonderful experience
I love coming to Carillon Point, it's one of the most beautiful place to be for Seattle summers especially if you have a boat, friends with a boat, or find socially awkward guy that need to use their boat to get girls so they can post superficial Instagram photos to justify their worth to the online world. There's a few options to dine here with Bin on the Lake being one of the higher end restaurant located on the top floor that overlook the waterfront with a spectacular view if you get seat at the right spot. Service was very friendly as expected coming in a place like this. It's nice to be here on a weekday when it's more quiet and intimate. My steak was excellent, the veggies were cooked perfectly too. I'll be back when I refill my wallet after doing 100 haircuts at work. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:
First, I have to say that I was really excited going to an upscale restaurant in Kirkland with a beautiful view. We live in Kirkland and we usually go to Seattle or Bellevue for fine dining. When we first got there, we were a bit early so the hostess asked us to wait 15 minutes before we could be seated. Actually, she said our table is ready but they were really busy so if we sat down early, the kitchen would get backed up. That was a weird comment. Usually restaurants would say they're not quite ready for us, or it will take a few minutes to get us seated. No explanation needed when we are 15 minutes early. She said we could sit or walk around. Okay, that's fine. But when we got back a few minutes before our reservation time, she seated two walk ins before us. Or son was with us and he's 8, but he's one with good manners and sophisticated tastes for a child. (He eats our raw oysters and can distinguish various flavors. Much better than I can to be honest. He says he wants to be a chef when he grows up. So I don't know if it's because we had our child with us, but they seated us on the side of the restaurant tucked in this corner where none of the wait staff can see us. We had a nice view but it wasn't conducive to great service. Our waiter was the bartender so his priority was the bar. It took forever to order, get our dinner and when he dropped off the dessert menu he said he would be right back and was gone for 15-20 minutes. We were anticipating getting dessert as it sounded really good, but we didn't want to wait forever for our dessert, and then have to wait for our check. So we decided to forego dessert and just get the check and head to Ben Jerry's for dessert. Needless to say, the check took forever to come, and we had to ask the assistant waiter to remind the waiter that we were waiting for the check. The food was good but not great, thus the 3 stars. I had the seafood risotto and my husband had the scallops. The oysters were great and the corn and crab chowder was really good. The food was their saving grace. Otherwise I would go down to 1 or 2 stars. We are usually very generous tippers averaging 20-25% but went with standard 15%. And only because we know the tips are usually shared with the cooks and assistant wait staff and we wanted then to get a fair cut. Otherwise we would have tipped only 10%. (They did have a living wage surcharge. We probably would NOT go back there and I would not recommend it to my friends. This is too bad because we live in Kirkland and would probably come quite often if the experience was a great one. Anthony's Home Port in Kirkland probably would have been a better choice. We usually get great service and good food there. When we are paying a high price for dinner with a wonderful ambiance, we expect attentive and superior service, and and excellent meal and experience. I have to say I had more attentiveness at Olive Garden.
The food was a solid 3 or 3.5 because FOCCIA BREAD!! I'm rounding up to 4 because I'm a sucker for a great view and our server was so sweet and kind! Had a ladies night and my sister and I took our mom out for dinner. The restaurant itself is gorgeous! Very romantic lighting. I was starving so we started with the mussels, salmon tartare and crab and corn chowder! The tartare and mussels were both very good yet kind of run the mill mussels and tartare. The corn chowder was extra sweet! Kind of addictive sweet for me. We had a very pescatarian family style dinner.. shared the diver scallops with mushroom ravioli, seafood risotto and I think the last dish was cod? With white bean. My favorite was the scallops! These were textbook quality! Perfectly cooked! And I enjoyed the thickness of the ravioli! The other dishes were okay. My mom really enjoyed the prawns in the risotto. Also I loved the wine flight! Beautifully presented and our server seemed pretty knowledgeable about the wine selection. And she was so good she tricked us into dessert! Jk but we did end up with a dessert even though we didn't finish any of the entrees lol
Great food, delicious drinks, lovely atmosphere (for adults), and great views. *dear Yelp, we do not have time for long reviews, we just want to know if we'll get food poisoning or not.
